Sometimes A Hug Is All We Need

In this age of social disconnectivity and lack of human contact, the effects of of few short moments of compassion can be enormous. In these times everyone has problems and fears, stress and overwhelm. But to see someone who was frowning, smile…

The Veil is Lifted

I woke with a start with this pervasive thought; “I am the ONLY ONE who is waiting for me!”

This was not only stunning to realize, but the implications of this thought gave me immediate pause to consider where I may have been ineffective in my relationship to others by not being completely authentic in my dealings with them.

This was a full-blown authenticity crisis.

I Love You, but...

“Yes, I love you”, he said “but I have to ask you to be patient until the situation remedies itself.” “Alright, I will” I heard myself say; but deep down, what I really heard was “What if it doesn’t?

When I think of all the time and love I wasted by clinging to that dangling carrot…!”

It became abundantly clear today that I been sold a bill of goods by every single man in my life. I have been buying into, “I’ll love you if…”

  • You do what I say
  • You do what I…

The Hero's Quest for Love

“Find the love you seek, by first finding the love within yourself. Learn to rest in that place within you that is your true home.” ~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Yes, I am still looking for evidence that it’s out there somewhere. I keep going back to the stories and myths of Hero’s quests. The lengths that we humans go through seeking treasure too close to see! All the time, hiding in plain sight.

This time I ventured out too far. I almost lost myself in the shining glory that…

Don’t we just get stuck in our stories?

I know for certain that being stuck in mine has kept me from living the best life that was available to me. If only I was brave enough to peer out from behind the walls of my shame and fear, I could have…

I have long been a student of Human Potential and I have even experienced moments of bliss that happen when potential is realized. Every one of the New Thought Leaders I chose to “follow” has given me something valuable to take away and…

That's When the Mean Girl Found Her Voice

Doing all of this work around self-love is not without its perils. It takes a great deal of self-examination to come to a place of acceptance of one’s self.

What I know now is that the primary blocks to self love are shame and guilt. They feed the inner critic; Let’s call her the Inner Mean Girl. Actually I have given her a name – Lola Loveless.

Lola’s been the…

A New World of Balanced Wholeness

We just completed some of the most intense 2012 astrological events this past week, and are still integrating all the incoming energies into our system. Many of us have been experiencing a roller coaster ride of extreme blissful highs and then the ebb of healing as our human self tries to process all the shifts and changes. The more that we can 'let go' and ride the ebb and flow, the easier this transit will be. I encourage everyone to suspend all thoughts, feelings, and…

My Balancing Act

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

How can I make the best of my circumstances?

I was remembering an awesome conference my company sponsored with Balanced Woman Magazine a few years ago in South Florida. I loved the vision…

Now I know what I've been missing

I am awake earlier than usual and I am also writing earlier than usual. While that’s not entirely unusual, what occurred yesterday, to cause me to wake up wanting to write is?

Since I began writing this blog, I have been seeking out experiences that would help me to understand finally, absolutely what love is. To know love, to be love, to experience love in all of its many forms. To experience self-love, romantic love, familial love…I wanted to feel them all, to understand what I know…
