Loneliness

Notes to Myself

I read somewhere that the difference between loneliness and solitude is the way one perceives it. Loneliness is being alone and wishing you weren't. Solitude is being alone and enjoying it. Honestly, I vacillate between the two. Sometimes I am happy and content to be alone, while other times I experience it as loneliness.

My son goes to his father's house for one month in the summer. At first I love being alone since I have never lived on my own. I love the… Continue

BioGenesis To The Rescue!

I have had so many BioGenesis Blessings...

My daughter had an absessed tooth removed and she had a very low tolerance to pain. She was drugged by the surgeon and her mouth was swollen. She reminded me of a drunk blowfish. After an hour of BioGenesis - a full session, she was coherent, not slurring over her words and the swelling had gone down to almost normal.

Then there were my tennis days. I would play tennis like I was 20 years old and practically crawl off the tennis courts after… Continue

Expressing Our Feelings

Notes to Myself

For many years I was unable to express an emotion other than fear, anxiety, frustration and anger. I was in survival mode and my main purpose was to make sure that I could provide for my son. My focus was on being a good mother, teacher, healer, friend, and family member, making sure everyone's needs were met.

I didn't have the luxury of exploring too many sides of my feelings. My life is no longer on that course. I have proven to myself that I can make it. At… Continue

Self Confidence

Notes to Myself

I have always struggled with my self confidence. For whatever reason I never really felt worthy or good enough. I would see what other people achieved and thought I am not capable of having or doing that. I didn't believe in myself. My mother would tell me, "you shouldn't compare your insides to other people's outsides." Because other people appeared to have it more together than I did I thought they were somehow better than me.

I was on the phone with my… Continue

Solving the mystery of recurring pain.

As a massage therapist I see a lot of people with recurring pain. They have been to the doctor, seen a chiropractor several times, and even seen an acupuncturist or other massage therapist. The pain keeps returning.

There are three main reasons for this:

1. There is a re-injury to the area, due to job functions, sports or other similar situations.

2. They have a functional imbalance in their body. A chronically hypertonic (tense) or hypotonic (relaxed or weak)… Continue

How Are You Coping With The Stress Around You?

As I was sitting @ the DMV today to renew my license, and squirling around a conversation I had just completed, to cool down and focus I began to people watch. It's a trick my Dad taught me when I was little; 1. to focus and 2. to learn how to tune into the feelings of others. As you can imagine @ the DMV, there were as many individual stories as there are stars, and I decided to make this the topic of my first BLOG: How Do You Deal with Stress… Continue

A Time to Be

Notes to Myself

Since I'm a teacher, I'm off for the summer. I know I am very fortunate to have this luxury. My son went to his father's house for a month, so I have the house to myself (other than my pack of wayward dogs). I chose to spend some quality time alone. I really needed time to just be.

I decided to catch up on some of my favorite activities. I rented movies that I've been wanting to watch, had a sinful pleasure of a marathon run of renting the series Weeds and… Continue
