The Heart

Oriental medicine refers to it as the Emperor.

Natural Medicine views this as 50% of the immune system.

Art and literature see this as the source of love and compassion.

We call it the heart and this is the topic of today’s e- Newsletter. The heart is considered to be the most important of all the internal organs. Its functions include the following:

1. Governs the blood. The heart is the major organ that circulates the blood throughout the 70,000… Continue

Our Love Story - the Beginning

Our story is divinely inspired and started in a most unusual way.  Well, not unusual in the romantic sense of two strangers meeting and being drawn in together, but unusual in the location and timing of our initial meeting.  We were both at an event that made us…

How Proper Exercise Can Help Release HGH

There are as many exercise regimens are there are diets. So which is the best? The best exercise is the one that you will follow diligently. No excuses. Just consistent effort.

There are 2 keys to exercise:

Duration

Intensity

The “good news” is that the duration of exercise should be no more than one hour. In fact, research has shown that 40-45 minutes is the optimal time to achieve quality hGH release. Release can occur in less time, but drops off dramatically… Continue

Endurance Training and the Dangers of "Shut Down Mode"

The body is the most amazing creation known. Aside from the physiological details (most of which are still unknown), it has a series of protective modes. These are the measures the body takes to protect itself, from ourselves and our sometimes ill-advised adventures. Here is one example:

Cardiac Low Back. This diagnostic impression is characterized by an apparent problem with the lumbar (low) area. However, upon examination, MRI reveal nothing. Chiropractic adjustments do not work… Continue

Why Goal Setting May Not Be Your Best Idea

Taoism reflects nature; that is, Nature is viewed as one’s teacher and if you follow Her lead, things work out extremely well. Case in point – goal setting.

Historically, I have methodically written out goals in great deal, complete with specific numbers, percentages and precise plans from getting to Point B from Point A. It works many times, albeit with a tremendous amount of stress and angst attached to it, often making the results themselves seem quite anti-climactic. It was not… Continue

Types of Milk and Which is Best for You

We drank it as kids. Added it to our cereal or put it into coffee. But like everything else, Milk too has changed in the sense that there are now so many different choices. A few years ago, cow’s milk was it. Now choice is the word of the day. Here is a review of some of the most popular options.

Whole Cow’s Milk. A typical 8 oz. glass contains some 150 calories, 7-8g of protein and fat and about 30% of the RDA’s worth of calcium. Research has concluded that cow’s milk can lower… Continue

Divine Nourishment

Notes to Myself

We are deep within the rebirthing process. Many of us have gone through hardships and experienced many losses and changes in our lives. What we are relinquishing are parts of ourselves that are no longer congruent with our divine plan. We've come far enough through this process to discover whom we really are and are creating the vision of how we would like to shape our lives. The rebirthing process is about letting go of the old way of doing things, changing our…

The Spleen and Why Your Fat Loss Plan May Not Be Working

When you think of fat loss, the Spleen is probably not one of the topics that jumps to mind first. However, it should be at the top of the list.

In Natural (and Oriental) medicine,  the Spleen is the major organ involved with  digestion; specifically, its function is “transformation” and “transportation” of food. What that basically means is that the Spleen extracts the useful nutrition from the waste and assists the body in moving it to the various organs, glands and other areas…

What Sumo Teaches Us About Being Fat (. . . or Thin)

I have been involved in martial arts for over 25 years. In all this time, the oddest martial art I have ever seen is Sumo.  As many know, it is 2 VERY large men, standing across from one another, ramming into each other like head on collision between trucks. It is strange indeed. It is also very educational from a nutritional perspective.

If you have ever seen these individuals, they are as strong as a horse but have tremendous body…
